In a landmark event held at the HITEX Convention Centre in Hyderabad, India, 21-year-old Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri from Thailand was crowned Miss World 2025, becoming the first Thai woman to win the prestigious global beauty pageant. The competition featured 108 contestants from around the world, with Opal standing out not only for her striking beauty but also for her eloquence, intelligence, and commitment to social causes.
Opal’s journey to the crown was marked by her victory in the Asia & Oceania Multimedia Challenge and her impressive performance in the fast-track events, which secured her a spot among the top finalists. During the final round, she delivered a compelling answer on truth and personal responsibility, emphasizing leadership through kindness and action as the greatest gift one can offer to the world. Her academic background in International Relations at Thammasat University and her advocacy for breast cancer awareness, inspired by her own surgery at age 16, further distinguished her as a role model.
The runner-up positions were claimed by Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia, Maja Klajda of Poland, and Aurelie Joachim of Martinique, rounding out a diverse and competitive final group.
