Patricia Fuenmayor, a well-known Venezuelan television presenter, former beauty queen, and Univision correspondent in New York, has died at the age of 51 following a courageous battle with cancer. Fuenmayor first rose to prominence as a finalist in the 1997 Miss Venezuela pageant and went on to win the Miss South America title in 1998, which launched her into the public eye across Latin America. Her life took a dramatic turn in 2015 when her husband, plastic surgeon Jorge Safar Pérez, was kidnapped in Venezuela, prompting the family to relocate to New York.
