Wilfred Ndidi, the Nigerian defensive midfielder currently with Leicester City, has attracted significant transfer interest following the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League last season. Serie A powerhouse Juventus is among the top clubs reported to be pursuing the 28-year-old midfielder, who is available for a bargain £9 million release clause activated due to Leicester’s drop to the Championship.
Alongside Juventus, Premier League sides Manchester United and Everton have also expressed interest in Ndidi, while Spanish La Liga club Real Betis is actively weighing a move to bolster their midfield ahead of the 2025/2026 season. Real Betis officials have made initial inquiries, impressed by Ndidi’s defensive discipline and ball-winning ability, which they believe fits their style of play.
In addition to European interest, Ndidi is reportedly open to offers from the Saudi Pro League, where clubs are prepared to offer lucrative deals. His agent confirmed that Saudi club Al-Ahli has initiated contact, though negotiations remain in early stages.
Ndidi joined Leicester City in January 2017 from Belgian side KRC Genk and has since made over 300 appearances in all competitions, including 220 Premier League matches. He was instrumental in Leicester’s historic FA Cup victory in 2020-21 and subsequent Community Shield triumph.
With his contract running until 2027 but featuring a relegation release clause, Ndidi’s move this summer appears imminent. Clubs across Europe and beyond are poised to capitalize on this opportunity to sign one of Nigeria’s most consistent midfielders at a relatively affordable price.
