Former First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari, alongside her children and family members, have relocated to the Kaduna residence of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. This move comes twelve days after Buhari’s burial in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
The arrival of Mrs. Buhari and her entourage was warmly received by a delegation led by Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe. Senior Kaduna government officials, including Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Munira Tanimu, also joined the reception at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Kaduna.
Following the welcome, Mrs. Buhari and her family were escorted to their new residence located in Ungwan Rimi GRA, Kaduna State. This residence was Buhari’s last place of abode in Nigeria before he traveled to London for medical treatment where he passed away on June 13, 2025.
The late President Muhammadu Buhari was accorded a state burial with full military honors in Daura on June 15, 2025, two days after his death.
The move signifies the family's return to their home base in Kaduna after settling final affairs in Daura and marks a new chapter following the passing of one of Nigeria’s prominent political figures.
