Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Directorate, have arrested 34 individuals suspected of involvement in internet-related fraud in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The arrests were made in coordinated raids on June 23, 2025, targeting locations in the Iworoko and Ijado areas of the state capital following credible intelligence about their fraudulent activities.
During the operation, the EFCC seized several items linked to the alleged crimes, including eleven luxury vehicles, multiple laptops, numerous mobile phones, and various incriminating documents. The suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
The EFCC’s action is part of its continued crackdown on cybercrime, aiming to curtail the growing menace of internet fraud in Nigeria and restore the country’s reputation internationally.
