National Leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has reaffirmed his commitment to the party while stating that the NNPP remains open to discussions with other political parties, individuals, or coalitions ahead of the 2027 general elections. Addressing the NNPP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Kwankwaso emphasized that the party is not rushing into any alliances but is willing to consider collaborative efforts to benefit Nigerians.
Kwankwaso clarified that while the party is ready to talk to anyone willing to work together for the 2027 elections, any decisions on such matters would be made collectively with leaders and members involved, highlighting the party's democratic approach. He also stressed that the NNPP does not belong to him or any individual but to all Nigerians, reinforcing the inclusive nature of the party.
The party also made internal changes during the NEC meeting by dissolving executives in some states and appointing new leaders ahead of upcoming conventions, signaling preparedness for the next election cycle. Kwankwaso addressed recent fake news about his political future, reiterating that there is currently no ongoing negotiation for defection and reaffirmed the loyalty and strong presence of NNPP members across the country.
As the 2027 elections approach, Kwankwaso’s leadership positions NNPP as a formidable and growing political force, ready to engage in meaningful alliances while keeping the party’s integrity intact.
