Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Directorate, arrested 55 individuals suspected of internet fraud in a sting operation conducted on Wednesday, July 6, 2025. The operation took place at K Hotel in the Itori area of Ewekoro Local Government, Ogun State, following credible and actionable intelligence regarding their involvement in cybercrime activities.
Recovered items during the arrest include six exotic cars, two locally fabricated pistols, one motorcycle, numerous laptops and mobile phones, incriminating documents, and 89 unclaimed mobile phones believed to be used for fraudulent operations. The suspects have provided useful information to the EFCC and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
This action reflects the EFCC’s ongoing commitment to combating internet-related fraud and cybercrime in Nigeria.
