Eleven Ebonyi Indigenes Killed in Anambra Attack Laid to Rest with State Burial and Financial Support

The remains of 11 indigenes of Ebonyi State, who were killed during a brutal attack in Ogbuoji, Orumba Local Government Area of Anambra State on May 30, 2025, have been laid to rest in Ebonyi. The victims, described as industrious sons and daughters seeking legitimate livelihoods, were honored with a state funeral attended by government officials, community leaders, clergy, and sympathizers.

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru expressed deep sorrow over the barbaric killings, describing them as a monumental loss to the families and the entire Ebonyi people. He assured the families of justice and pledged the state's support to help them rebuild their lives.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma, announced financial assistance ranging between five million and ten million naira for each bereaved family to start businesses and cope with the loss.

Governor Nwifuru called for unity, vigilance, and prayers against insecurity in the South-East and Nigeria as a whole, emphasizing the need to combat such senseless violence.
