The Enugu State Police Command has successfully dismantled a robbery syndicate involved in various criminal activities, recovering weapons, stolen solar panels, and a motorcycle during the operations. The arrests and recoveries form part of the command’s intensified efforts to curb violent crime and restore peace in the state.
According to the police spokesperson, Superintendent Daniel Ndukwe, the arrests followed multiple tactical operations carried out by different units across Enugu. Among the recovered items were firearms, live cartridges, solar panels, a motorcycle, and other stolen properties linked to the suspects.
Three suspects, Okafor Chukwuka, Emeka Odo, and Ugochukwu Eze, were apprehended, with investigations revealing their involvement in armed robbery and cult-related activities. Okafor was linked to a robbery incident in Nara Unataeze, Nkanu East LGA, where a motorcycle was snatched at gunpoint, while Emeka confessed to robbing a motorcyclist and selling the vehicle to Ugochukwu.
The police have assured that ongoing investigations will pursue fleeing suspects and that those arrested will be brought to justice. Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, commended the operatives for their resilience and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.
This operation is part of the command’s broader strategy to rid Enugu State of criminal networks and ensure safety for all law-abiding citizens.
