Former President of High School Basketball Tournament Accused of Embezzling Up to $61,000

Courtney Raegan Walker, the former Athletic Director and Facilitator for Moore High School in Oklahoma, is facing six felony charges for allegedly embezzling over $60,000 from various school athletic programs and events between 2024 and 2025.

Investigations reveal that Walker misappropriated funds collected from event ticket sales for multiple sports tournaments, including basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, track and field, and football leagues. Specific allegations include stealing approximately $7,000 during the Mid America Youth Basketball Tournament, $13,000 from a volleyball tournament, $20,000 from a cheer event, and several other sums from regional basketball and track meets.

Court documents state that Walker admitted to spending the stolen money on gambling. She was placed on administrative leave when the misappropriation surfaced and resigned from her position in July 2025.

Moore Public Schools promptly reported the case to local police and the Oklahoma State Department of Education, with both an internal and police investigation ongoing.

This case highlights concerns over financial management and accountability within school sports programs and serves as a warning about the risks of misusing funds intended for student-athletes and school activities.
