Former England defender and Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards has tipped Manchester City to reclaim the Premier League title in the 2025/26 season. Speaking after nine of the opening ten fixtures had concluded, Richards expressed confidence that City will bounce back after last season’s surprise dethroning by Liverpool.
City had dominated the league with four consecutive titles until Liverpool finished 10 points clear last season, while Arsenal placed third for the third straight year. However, Richards believes City’s quality and depth will prove decisive this season.
When asked for his top five predictions, Richards ranked the contenders as follows: “Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur.”
Manchester City kicked off their campaign emphatically with a 4-0 win over Wolves. Liverpool and Arsenal also started strong, beating Bournemouth 4-2 and Manchester United 1-0 respectively.
Richards noted that injuries and squad chemistry may affect teams’ title hopes, but he sees City as favorites to finish ahead of rivals Liverpool and Arsenal, who will also mount serious challenges.
