NIMC Successfully Upgrades Diaspora NIN Enrolment Portal to Enhance Service Delivery for Nigerians Abroad

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has completed a significant upgrade of its Diaspora National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment portal to provide a more seamless, secure, efficient, and effective service for Nigerians living abroad. This enhancement aims to improve the enrolment experience for Nigerians in the diaspora and prevent fraud and technical glitches.

As part of the upgrade, all Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs), accredited agencies facilitating NIN enrolment overseas, were required to obtain and activate new enrolment licences within 48 hours of the upgrade completion. These partners have undergone intensive training to ensure effective management of the upgraded system. Nigerians residing abroad can now continue accessing enrolment services only through these compliant FEPs.

The commission apologized for any inconvenience caused during the upgrade period and set up a dedicated service team to help resolve diaspora enrolment issues.

NIMC also emphasized that NIN enrolment continues across all centres in Nigeria and encouraged Nigerians to locate enrolment centres via the official NIMC website. Holders of the NIN are urged to download the NINAuth App, available on both iOS and Google Play stores, to securely verify their NIN, control their data, and enjoy streamlined authentication services.

This upgrade is part of NIMC’s ongoing efforts to support identity management for Nigerians globally and to ensure robust and trustworthy delivery of national identity services.
