The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has raised alarm that his life and that of his management team are under serious threat. Ojulari attributed the threats to the reforms he has been implementing in the oil and gas sector to revive the moribund refinery, in line with the directive of President Bola Tinubu.
The NNPCL boss made this revelation on Thursday during a meeting with the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) at the company’s headquarters in Abuja. He lamented that some powerful interests opposed to change are plotting to remove him from office owing to the transformations underway in the company.
Ojulari emphasized that despite the intimidation attempts, he remains focused on driving the necessary reforms to improve Nigeria's oil and gas sector.
