Vice President Kashim Shettima chaired a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The council members present included the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, as well as the Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
The meeting was also attended by governors from Zamfara, Jigawa, Lagos, Anambra, Gombe, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Benue, Ondo, and the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas.
The NEC is constitutionally tasked with advising the President on economic affairs, including coordinating economic planning, revenue allocation, and national economic policy implementation.
