The Nigerian Federal Government has approved an upward review of passport application fees, set to take effect from September 1, 2025, according to a statement by the Nigeria Immigration Service spokesperson, A.S. Akinlabi.
The new fees apply only to passport applications made within Nigeria. The revised fee for a 32-page passport with a 5-year validity will now be N100,000, while a 64-page passport with a 10-year validity will cost N200,000. Fees for Nigerians applying for passports from abroad remain unchanged at $150 for a 32-page passport and $230 for a 64-page passport.
The government explained that the fee increase aims to ensure the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, balancing service delivery with accessibility for all citizens.
