The Rivers State Police Command has declared a temporary restriction on human and vehicular movement throughout the state on August 30, 2025. The restriction will be effective from 12:00 am to 6:00 pm on the day of the Local Government elections to ensure security and a peaceful polling process.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, urged residents to cooperate fully with security agencies to facilitate a smooth and violence-free electoral process. Comprehensive security arrangements, including adequate deployment of personnel to land and waterways, are in place to guarantee voters' safety.
Residents have been advised to comply with the restriction order and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to law enforcement agencies to uphold law and order before, during, and after the elections.
