The burial of slain businessman Martins Ifesinachi Onyekesi, known as "Fish Magnate," took place solemnly in Eziakpu Village, Ikenga, Aguata LGA of Anambra State. Onyekesi, a prominent fish processor and seller known for promoting his trade on social media, was abducted by unknown gunmen last month. Despite ransom payment, he was found murdered and his body dumped nearby, shocking the community.
The burial, attended by family, friends, sympathizers, and the Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr. Onyeka Ibezim representing Governor Chukwuma Soludo, was marked by tears and prayers with limited speeches.
The tragic death has sparked public outrage, including protests led by activist Martins Otse (Very Dark Man), calling for an end to the rising killings in Anambra State. The incident brings to light concerns over security and the safety of businesspeople in the region.
