Popular Nigerian music video director ThankGod Omori, aka TG Omori, has disclosed that his medical expenses over the past six months are equivalent to the cost of two Mercedes-Benz GLE SUVs and a smaller Mercedes-Benz C300, worth hundreds of millions of naira.
Sharing the revelation on social media, Omori underscored the old adage, “Health is wealth,” highlighting the staggering financial burden of healthcare. He underwent a kidney transplant in August 2024 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, crediting his survival to his only brother, who donated a kidney.
Omori also spoke about the high costs of dialysis treatment in Nigeria, which can exceed ₦100,000 per session and often requires multiple weekly sessions. Motivated by his experience, he plans to launch a glasses line with proceeds aimed at supporting kidney disease patients who struggle to afford treatment.
His candid disclosure draws attention to the challenges many Nigerians face with medical expenses and the profound importance of good health.
