Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal Vows Never to Negotiate with Bandits, Reaffirms Security Priority

Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has once again reiterated his firm stance against negotiating with bandits terrorizing the state, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to adopting a hardline approach to insecurity. During a visit on Thursday to communities recently attacked by bandits in Kagara, Dan Isa, and Kasuwar Daji in Kauran Namoda Local Government Area, the governor offered condolences and reassured residents of the government's unwavering focus on restoring peace.

Governor Lawal stated that since the beginning of his tenure, he has made it clear that his administration will never engage in negotiations with criminals, citing their lack of sincerity and remorse. He reaffirmed that the government’s position remains unchanged and that security remains the top priority, with all resources being deployed to protect lives and property throughout Zamfara.

In addition to addressing security challenges, the governor highlighted the poor state of roads leading to these communities and pledged to prioritize their rehabilitation to improve access and support local development.

Governor Lawal’s visits underscore a determined government approach focused on confronting insecurity through strength and resolve rather than compromise, aiming to bring lasting peace to affected communities in Zamfara State.
