Activist VDM Slams Nigerian Government and Corporations Over Death of Phyna’s Sister

Nigerian activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as Verydarkman (VDM), has sharply criticized the Nigerian government and influential corporations for their hypocrisy following the death of Ruth Otabor, sister of reality TV star Phyna. Ruth passed away on August 31, 2025, after battling injuries sustained when she was hit by a Dangote truck driven by an allegedly unlicensed driver in Auchi, Edo State.

VDM condemned the silence and lack of action during the 19 days Ruth spent fighting for her life in hospital, highlighting how attention only surged after her death. He argued that earlier public pressure could have forced Dangote Group to respond more expediently.

The activist directly rebuked both government authorities and corporate entities, accusing them of systemic failure and negligence toward ordinary Nigerians. He criticized the failure to enforce accountability and the employment of unlicensed drivers by powerful companies.

VDM’s comments have sparked widespread discussion on social media, calling for justice for Ruth and urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and vocal on issues impacting public safety and corporate responsibility.
