A devastating fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at a four-bedroom flat being used as a tailoring factory on Benjamin Alabama junction in the Eleyele area of Ibadan.
The blaze destroyed equipment and properties valued at millions of naira, although, fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident and praised the swift response of his officers who were mobilized promptly following a distress call received at 4:15 AM.
Fire service personnel, led by ACFS Bamidele Samsudeen, arrived quickly at the scene and managed to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to the rest of the building.
Akinwande also urged residents to be vigilant and ensure timely and accurate reporting of fire emergencies to aid rapid response.
