Sowore Petitions Florida Attorney General Over Properties Linked to FCT Minister Wike Allegedly Bought with Laundered Public Funds

Human rights activist and convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore, has formally petitioned the Office of the Attorney General of Florida, led by James Uthmeier, accusing Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, of laundering public funds to acquire properties in the United States.

Sowore alleged that three properties located in Winter Springs, Florida, are directly linked to Wike but are concealed under the names of his wife, Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, a serving judge at Nigeria's Court of Appeal, and distributed among his children to mask illicit origins.

He described the acts as “first-class felonies” involving trafficking of illicit wealth into American real estate and urged authorities to investigate under Florida statutes criminalizing money laundering and property trafficking, punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Sowore further accused Wike of replicating similar illegal land acquisition tactics in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, emphasizing the need for accountability and the enforcement of laws against such crimes.

The petition highlights alleged criminal conduct under Florida law, including illegal concealment of ownership and trafficking in stolen property.

As of this report, Nyesom Wike has not publicly responded to the allegations.
