Tunisia and Morocco Confirm Qualification for 2026 FIFA World Cup

Two African nations, Tunisia and Morocco, have officially booked their spots at the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Tunisia secured qualification after a dramatic 1-0 win over Equatorial Guinea on Monday night. The Carthage Eagles needed a victory to guarantee their place and clinched the win with the last kick of the match by Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane. Tunisia entered the match seven points ahead of Namibia in their qualifying group.

Morocco, known as the Atlas Lions, was the first African team to qualify last weekend, having won all their fixtures so far. They cemented their dominance with a 2-0 victory against Zambia on Monday.

The achievements of these two teams highlight the competitive nature of African football as other nations continue to battle for the remaining available qualification slots.

Tunisia and Morocco now await the 2026 World Cup, where they will represent the continent on football’s biggest stage.
