Why Many Nigerians Are Stuck in Failure - Terry G

Afrobeats singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has spoken about how poor parental upbringing contributes to the struggles many Nigerians face in achieving success.

He explained that negative messages from parents, often repeated in childhood, lead to low self-esteem that carries into adulthood, causing many to remain stuck in failure.

On his X handle, the "Akpako Master" wrote: “Our Nigerian parents really do many of us strong thing. The point I’m making is this: when you come under my post saying you’ll never make it, that’s not really you speaking, it's the voice of what you grew up hearing at home. When you say, ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that,’ you’re only repeating what your father and mother told you growing up."

He urged Nigerians to break the cycle of negative thinking and to embrace a positive mindset.

“Now you see you’ve carried that same energy into adulthood, and that’s why many are stuck in failure. It’s time to break that cycle. It’s time to change that mindset,” Terry G concluded.
