Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is fully repositioned and ready to contest the 2027 general elections with renewed vigor. Speaking at the party’s state congress held in Yola, Fintiri emphasized the efforts to build a revamped PDP that Nigerian citizens can believe in and trust.
“We are trying to give birth to a new PDP where everyone will believe, trust and have confidence in. We are really positioned, and we are ready for 2027,” the governor said. He noted that the congress process was transparent and fair, and that PDP is on a fast track to good governance underpinned by party unity and strong leadership.
The governor highlighted that the current government and party structures are working hand in hand to improve governance and citizens’ welfare, and the large attendance at the congress underscored popular confidence in the party’s new direction.
Newly elected Adamawa PDP leaders, including state chairman Hamza Madagali and secretary Saleh Shelleng, were entrusted to lead the party’s affairs for the next four years. Party members and aspirants commended Madagali’s leadership qualities, describing him as a visionary committed to grassroots development and unity, essential for reclaiming political seats in the upcoming elections.
Golfa Mallim, a House of Representatives aspirant, urged party members to embrace reconciliation and collective effort, warning against internal divisions that could undermine their success.
With a reorganized leadership and clear strategic focus, PDP appears poised for a strong campaign in 2027, aiming to recapture electoral victories and restore confidence after recent challenges.
