Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor and the Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, has officially declared his intention to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the Lagos State Governor in the 2027 elections. Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate emphasized that his ambition is driven by a vision to promote inclusive governance and sustainable development in Lagos.
Jandor stated that his aspiration is rooted in stewardship aiming to build a Lagos where opportunities, innovation, and prosperity are accessible to all residents. He expressed his commitment to strengthen transparency, accountability, and service delivery in the state.
Although Jandor ran under the PDP banner in 2023, he recently returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and plans to contest the governorship under APC in 2027. He affirmed that he would abide by the party’s internal democracy and work to ensure APC’s victory in Lagos.
Addressing criticisms of the PDP’s decline in Lagos, Jandor noted that poor leadership and indiscipline have weakened the party. He expressed confidence that APC, with a stronger structure and renewed membership, is well-positioned to secure a seamless victory in 2027.
Jandor also acknowledged the political challenge posed by opposition groups such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Labour Party, especially in light of the 2023 election surprises, but affirmed his readiness to face these challenges head-on.
