“Emi Lokan”: Tinubu’s Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu Declares Interest to Contest Oyo Governorship in 2027

Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Nigeria’s Minister of Power and former All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, has officially declared his intention to run for the governorship seat in the 2027 elections. The announcement was made during a meeting with APC leaders, stakeholders, and party members in Oke-Ogun Zone 2, a significant political stronghold in the state.

Speaking in Yoruba, Adelabu invoked the spirit of determination and readiness, stating, “I have paid my dues. I contested alongside Seyi Makinde in 2019 and again in 2023. Today, I declare, it is our turn, it is my turn in 2027, as God has revealed it. Adelabu! Àwálòkàn! Penkelemesi Èmilòkàn!”

Adelabu stressed that his ambition is not personal or selfish but rooted in his love for the less privileged and his commitment to the progress and development of Oyo State. He assured party members that APC, with unity and internal democracy, will reclaim Agodi Government House from the ruling PDP.

The Minister highlighted the importance of a united APC, warning that a divided house cannot achieve victory. He expressed confidence that with collective efforts, APC’s triumph in Oyo State is not only possible but certain.

Adelabu’s visit was supported by key APC figures, including the late former governor Ajimobi’s brother, Wasiu Ajimobi, and local government leaders, who rallied behind his governorship ambition.
