Eight Killed, Six Missing as Gunmen Attack Nindama Village in Nasarawa State

At least eight people have been confirmed dead while six others remain missing following a brutal armed attack on Nindama village in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on October 11, 2025. The attack was carried out by suspected bandits who stormed the community late at night, shooting indiscriminately and causing widespread panic among residents.

Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen arrived on motorcycles, moving swiftly from house to house, killing victims and causing some villagers to flee into the surrounding bush for safety. Some victims were reportedly attacked with machetes, and a number were injured during the assault. The bodies of the deceased were buried by their families amid calls for justice and improved security.

Local community leaders have condemned the attack, describing it as unprovoked and devastating for a community that had previously lived peacefully. Residents are appealing to the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and prevent future incidents.

Security forces have been deployed to the area to investigate and enhance protection for vulnerable communities in Nasarawa State, as banditry and violent attacks in the region continue to cause loss of lives and displacement.
