Bauchi State Government Orders Closure of All Schools Over Heightened Security Threats

The Bauchi State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all schools across the state in response to rising security concerns and recent attacks in parts of the country. The directive affects public and private primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, including those owned by both the federal and state governments.

Authorities explained the move is a precaution to safeguard students and staff, citing “overwhelming security concerns” after incidents of violence and abductions targeting school communities. The announcement, made by the Ministry of Education’s spokesperson Jalaludeen Usman, urged parents, guardians, and school proprietors to remain calm and cooperative, assuring that schools will reopen once the threat level improves.

The Bauchi government emphasized its top priority is the protection of children and appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to help security agencies. Collaboration with law enforcement is ongoing to restore normalcy and allow all academic activities to resume safely.
