Centurion Law Group Suspends CEO Zion Adeoye Over Gross Misconduct Probe

Centurion Law Group (CLG), a prominent pan-African energy law firm, suspended its CEO Zion Adeoye on November 27 pending an independent investigation into allegations of gross misconduct. The firm emphasized the action upholds the rule of law and presumption of innocence, hiring an external entity to ensure impartiality without implying guilt.

Adeoye, who succeeded NJ Ayuk as CEO and managing partner in 2024, oversaw legal affairs in project finance, infrastructure, real estate, taxation, and energy across Africa, including major deals in Nigeria, South Sudan, Uganda, and others. His prior roles spanned KPMG Nigeria, NNPC, Olaniwun Ajayi LP, Templars, and Transnational Energy Group, contributing to Nigeria's Petroleum Industry Bill reforms and earning a '40 under 40 Rising Stars' award.

The suspension, first noted on CLG's website in October, allows unhindered scrutiny while Adeoye steps aside from duties.
