Rev. Dachomo Alarms: Boko Haram Places Bounty on My Head Amid Escalating Threats

Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Plateau State, raised a urgent alarm claiming Boko Haram terrorists have placed a bounty on his head due to his outspoken criticism of attacks on Christians. The cleric, who has conducted over 70 mass burials for victims of what he calls genocide, including 501 killed in one night in Dogolawa, stated the threat stems from his advocacy for protection and accountability against extremist violence.

Dachomo, facing prior death threats and unconfirmed reports of a seven-day kill order from Islamic extremists, released videos affirming his resolve, telling family and church members not to pay ransom if abducted, as his martyrdom would advance Christian liberation. He has accused government complicity, alleging repentant Boko Haram members infiltrated security forces, and vowed to drag Nigeria to the International Criminal Court over the killings.

This development follows Dachomo's warnings of impending attacks dismissed by military as propaganda, amid ongoing herder-farmer clashes claiming thousands of Christian lives in 2025, heightening fears in northern Nigeria.
