Six passengers lost their lives in a tragic collision between a yellow-and-black tipper truck (FGG21XV) and a red 608 bus (XQ398AA) at Nawfia axis near Enugu-Agidi Junction along the Awka-Onitsha Expressway late Friday. Anambra FRSC Sector Commander Bridget Asekhauno confirmed the incident involved 32 people 9 male adults and 23 female adults with 2 male and 4 female fatalities, 5 female injuries, and 21 unhurt rescues.
Eyewitnesses from the Ebonyi-Onitsha bound bus, returning from a Catholic Women Organisation burial, blamed the bus driver's reckless overtaking and speeding to recover time.
