AXA Mansard Report Reveals 44% of Young Adults Battle Mental Health Issues

A new study by AXA Mansard Insurance has found that 44% of young adults aged 18-24 in Nigeria are currently struggling with mental health conditions. The findings were released in the company's 2025 Mind Health Report, which highlights growing concerns about mental wellness among youth and workers.

Key Findings:

Youth Mental Health Crisis: Nearly half of young adults face mental health challenges, driven by excessive social media use and financial pressures.

Workplace Stress: Employees report worsening mental health due to heavy workloads, tight deadlines, and poor work-life balance.

Global Scope: The survey covered 17,000 respondents across 16 countries in partnership with research firm IPSOS.

Call to Action:

AXA's General Counsel, Omowunmi Adewusi, urged businesses and government to prioritize mental health support systems: "We must create cultures that help people thrive, not just survive." The report emphasizes reducing stigma and promoting holistic well-being through workplace policies and youth-focused interventions.

The study marks AXA's fifth annual mental health assessment, reinforcing the need for urgent solutions to safeguard mental wellness nationwide.
