It looks like Beyoncé fans hoping for her return to the big screen might be out of luck. According to her mother, Tina Knowles, the global superstar has decided to step away from acting for good.
Tina shared this revelation on social media while posting a clip from the 2008 film Cadillac Records, where Beyoncé portrayed the legendary singer Etta James. In her heartfelt post, she reflected on her daughter’s acting talent and how she selflessly donated her salary from the movie to the Phoenix House, a nonprofit organization helping those recovering from addiction.
"Cadillac Records is still one of my favorite movies, and it makes me miss the fact that my child decided not to continue with movies. She killed it in this movie," Tina wrote.
Beyoncé’s Legacy in Film
While she’s best known as a music powerhouse, Beyoncé has had a notable acting career. She starred in films like Carmen: A Hip Hopera, Austin Powers in Goldmember, and Dreamgirls, which earned her critical acclaim. More recently, she voiced Nala in Disney’s The Lion King (2019) and reprised the role in Mufasa (2024), alongside her daughter, Blue Ivy.
Despite her departure from acting, Beyoncé’s presence in Hollywood will always be remembered. For now, she’s fully focused on her music career, and with her recent Cowboy Carter album era making waves, it’s clear that Queen Bey still reigns supreme.
