2027: ADP Admits Opposition Plot to Unseat Tinubu, Uzodimma Dismisses Coalition

The Action Democratic Congress (ADP) has confirmed it is collaborating with other opposition parties to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections. ADP's National Chairman, Yabagi Sani, announced this during the launch of three books by the party's national treasurer, Dr. Okey Ude, in Abuja.

While Sani declined to name specific opposition figures involved, he emphasized ADP's commitment to ensuring the emergence of leaders who can improve the country's fortunes. He stressed the need for collaboration and a change in the system of leadership recruitment to ensure good governance.

However, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma dismissed the opposition's efforts as inconsequential. Speaking in Lagos, Uzodimma asserted that the APC and President Tinubu are not worried by the attempted coalition. He stated the ruling party possesses greater political experience and remains vigilant. Uzodimma questioned the viability of the parties forming the coalition, stating that they need to leave the "Intensive Care Unit (ICU)" before discussing alliances.

Uzodimma also commented on the situation in Rivers State, supporting the declaration of a State of Emergency by President Tinubu. He argued that the action was necessary to protect national economic assets and prevent the impeachment of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, which he believes would set a dangerous precedent.
