Awka, Anambra State - Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary Election Committee for Anambra State, has expressed strong confidence in the party's ability to win the upcoming governorship election.
Speaking to 1,630 APC delegates in Awka, Governor Otu emphasized the strategic importance of securing Anambra for the APC, highlighting the potential benefits for the state and the broader Southeast region.
"Our party, APC, is already governing two states in the Southeast, and getting a third state will be very good. It is very possible to win over Anambra State," Otu stated during his address at the Dora Akunyili hall. He urged party members to unite behind the eventual primary winner and work collectively towards victory in the November 8 election.
Governor Otu underscored the significance of aligning Anambra with the ruling party at the national level, stating, "It would be a significant gain for the people because it is time to align with the government at the center." He described Anambra as the "heart of the Southeastern states" and stressed the need to elect a candidate who can connect the state to the central government.
Prior to the primary election, Governor Otu convened meetings with all the aspirants, securing their commitment to support the outcome of a transparent and fair process. He reiterated the importance of unity and a shared purpose as the party prepares for the main election.
