German Police Investigate Four Teen Suspects Over School Threats

Duisburg, Germany – Authorities in Germany have identified four teenage suspects in connection with threatening emails that led to the closure of several schools in Duisburg.

The emails, which contained racist threats and extremist right-wing messages, prompted the shutdown of 20 schools on Monday, affecting nearly 18,000 students.

A 15-year-old from Berlin is suspected of sending an email that resulted in the cancellation of classes at Max Planck Grammar School on Thursday.

Three other teenagers, aged 16 to 17, from Duisburg are also under investigation. Police believe they aimed to disrupt an examination scheduled at their school.

The investigation is ongoing to determine if these suspects are linked to other threatening emails sent over the weekend.

Regional Interior Minister Herbert Reul commended the swift police action, emphasizing that such threats are taken seriously.
