Ibadan, Nigeria – Uthman Uthman Olayode, the best graduating student of Abiola Ajimobi Technical University in Ibadan, shared a remarkable story of perseverance at the university's combined convocation ceremony for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions.
Olayode revealed that he failed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) five times before finally gaining admission to the university.
Despite these initial setbacks, Olayode excelled academically, achieving an impressive academic record with 55 As and only 2 Bs throughout his studies. He remarkably maintained a perfect 5.0 GPA in six out of eight semesters, with five of those being consecutive.

Olayode's academic excellence earned him several prestigious scholarships, including the Federal Government Scholarship Award, the MTN Foundation Scholarship, and the Oyo State bursary for final-year students. He also served as the Ameer of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) during his final year.
His journey serves as a testament to resilience and determination, inspiring others who may face similar challenges in their educational pursuits.
