Jonathan to Politicians: Take a Cue from Otti on Good Governance

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerian leaders to emulate Abia State Governor Alex Otti's approach to governance. Jonathan made this call at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Alumni, 1980s Reunion Dinner and Award ceremony in Umuahia, Abia State.

Represented by Dr. Godknows Igali, Jonathan praised Otti's "intentionality in leadership," stating he "came prepared." He noted the positive transformation in Abia State, highlighting the increased demand for "Aba made" products, which were previously ridiculed.

Jonathan's commendation follows similar praise from former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who recently inaugurated a reconstructed road in Abia State and lauded Otti as "an example of a good leader."

In response, Governor Otti encouraged his fellow UNIPORT alumni to enter politics, emphasizing its potential for positive impact. He showcased his administration's projects, including the reconstruction of primary health centers and schools, and reaffirmed his commitment to allocating significant portions of the state budget to education and health.

The UNIPORT 80s Alumni toured some of Otti's projects and lauded the visible improvements in Abia State. UNIPORT Vice-Chancellor Prof. Owunari Georgewill also commended Otti's achievements and sought further support for the university.
