Police operatives from the Rivers State Police Command dispersed a group of protesters, members of the 'Take It Back Movement,' with tear gas in Port Harcourt today.
The protesters had gathered at Isaac Boro Park in the state's capital as early as 9 a.m. but were met with a heavy security presence.
Confrontation and Use of Force
Despite the police presence, the protesters stood their ground, asserting their right to assemble freely within Rivers State.
However, police operatives reportedly beat some protesters and journalists at the protest grounds, in addition to firing tear gas.
