The House of Representatives ad-hoc committee on Rivers oversight has postponed its scheduled interactive session with the Sole Administrator of the state, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas. The meeting was initially set for Thursday.
According to a statement issued by House Spokesperson Rep. Akin Rotimi, the committee acknowledged the request for postponement made by the sole administrator and is working to fix a new date for the interactive session.
The committee, constituted on Tuesday with Rep. Julius Ihonvbere as its head, aims to oversee the emergency rule in Rivers State after President Bola Tinubu's declaration. The committee had invited Ibas for a comprehensive engagement on his activities in Rivers.
Rotimi assured that the public will be promptly informed once the rescheduled date is confirmed, in the spirit of transparent and effective oversight.
