Eedris Abdulkareem Drops ‘Ojoro INEC,’ Criticizing Nigeria’s Electoral Commission

Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has released a new song titled “Ojoro INEC” that sharply criticizes the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its alleged lack of independence and perceived bias toward President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Released on May 30, 2025, the song accuses INEC of working for the ruling party and questions its decisions on voter registration and election processes.

In the lyrics, Eedris challenges INEC’s credibility, highlighting issues such as the legalization of voting without Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), refusal to register political parties, and reliance on the judiciary to suppress dissent. The song follows his earlier controversial track “Tell Your Papa,” which targeted Tinubu’s son and was subsequently banned by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

The release of “Ojoro INEC” has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with some praising Eedris for speaking out against electoral malpractice, while others criticize the song’s rhythm and message. Eedris also revealed that he was offered a 200 million naira bribe to silence his criticisms, which he rejected.

The song is available on all major streaming platforms and continues to fuel debate about electoral integrity in Nigeria.
