Bola Tinubu on Friday called on state governors across Nigeria to place the welfare of the people at the core of every policy and program they implement. Speaking during the 2025 May Day celebrations held at Eagles Square, Abuja, the president emphasized that governors should avoid distractions and focus on delivering tangible results that will positively impact their constituents.
Tinubu assured the governors that the outcomes of their efforts would ultimately speak louder than words, urging them to let their work demonstrate their commitment to improving lives. He highlighted the importance of transparency, inclusivity, and accountability in governance, stressing that these values are essential for sustainable development and public trust.
The president also reiterated his administration’s dedication to addressing the high cost of living, fighting corruption, and promoting job creation and poverty alleviation. He acknowledged the economic hardships faced by Nigerians but expressed confidence that collective efforts at all levels of government would lead to meaningful progress.
In his address, Tinubu underscored the critical role of workers as the engine of the nation’s economy and the secret to its growth, pledging continued support for their welfare and rights.
