Brentford centre-back Benjamin Frederick has been called up to the Super Eagles squad for the Unity Cup invitational tournament, replacing Christantus Uche. Uche, who plays for Getafe, was unable to secure an entry visa to the United Kingdom for the competition.
Frederick, who was named Brentford’s Young Player of the Season following an impressive 2024/25 campaign, joined the team and participated in training on Thursday night. His strong performances in the Premier League have earned him recognition and now a chance to represent Nigeria on the international stage.
Christantus Uche is expected to rejoin the Super Eagles for their upcoming international friendly against Russia next Friday.
The Super Eagles are set to face the Reggae Boys of Jamaica in the Unity Cup final on Saturday.
