Former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido has vowed to boycott all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) meetings until Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike and other alleged impostors are removed from the party. Lamido, who was absent from the PDP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held on Tuesday, described Wike as a “disaster” and a threat to the party’s peace and stability.
Lamido stated:
“Wike is a disaster and a product of the PDP, the party that made him important. But now, he aims to ruin it.”
He criticized the Federal Capital Territory Administration for sealing the PDP national secretariat, attributing the action to Wike’s influence, and called it “un-African, un-Nigerian, and a huge abuse of power.” Lamido also condemned the PDP’s National Working Committee for failing to expel Wike and others involved in anti-party activities, questioning why figures like Wike and former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom remain in party positions despite actions against the PDP’s interests.
Lamido praised President Tinubu for giving defaulters a 14-day ultimatum to pay outstanding FCT ground rents and alleged that Wike ordered the closure of the PDP headquarters to curry favor with the President. He predicted that Tinubu will eventually abandon Wike due to his insincerity.
He also warned about Nigeria sliding into a one-party state, describing it as “state-sponsored sabotage.” Lamido emphasized the need for the PDP to cleanse itself to survive amid ongoing internal conflicts since 2022.
