Napoli Demand Hojlund Plus £33.6m from Manchester United for Victor Osimhen Transfer

Napoli have set a firm asking price for star striker Victor Osimhen, demanding Manchester United include Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund plus an additional £33.6 million to secure the Nigerian’s signature in this summer’s transfer window.

Manchester United are actively seeking to strengthen their attacking options after a trophyless 2024/25 campaign under manager Ruben Amorim. While the club is also pursuing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town who is available due to a £30 million relegation release clause Delap reportedly prefers a move to Chelsea, prompting United to intensify their pursuit of Osimhen.

According to Italian radio outlet Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, United’s director of football, Matt Hargreaves, recently traveled to Italy for direct talks with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna. Napoli are holding out for a deal that would see Hojlund, who joined United last summer, head to Naples along with a substantial cash payment.

Osimhen, 26, has a £63 million release clause in his contract, but it only applies to clubs outside Italy. His loan spell with Galatasaray expires in June, and his future remains undecided.

The negotiations underline United’s determination to land a proven goalscorer, but the high demands from Napoli could complicate any potential deal.
