Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has addressed rumors of a marital crisis after fans noticed she unfollowed her husband, David Oyekanmi, on Instagram and deleted their wedding photos just months after their March 2024 wedding.
In a viral video shared on her social media page, Queen Mercy clarified that her actions were not due to marital problems but rather a deliberate effort to protect her marriage from public scrutiny. She explained that her husband’s Instagram handle had attracted a lot of attention, with many women sending him both positive and negative messages.
“I was trying to take my marriage off social media because my husband’s handle is out there, with a lot of ladies sliding in his DM to say both positive and negative things,” she said. “I just want to protect my marriage and reduce some of the things I put out there.”
Queen Mercy emphasized that her decision was to safeguard her relationship and maintain privacy, not a sign of trouble in her marriage.
