Nollywood Actor Daniel Etim-Effiong Admits to Past Womanizing, Warns Youth Against the Lifestyle

Popular Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has opened up about his past as a womanizer, revealing that he once dated multiple women at the same time, but described the phase as brief and a learning experience.

In a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo, Etim-Effiong, an engineer-turned-actor, reflected on his former lifestyle, saying, “Maybe there was a time in my life I was [a womanizer]. Definitions would differ, but in that definition, maybe there was a period in my life that I was. I wouldn’t say for long periods of my life. Maybe for some certain periods that I explored. So, perhaps.”

He admitted that those periods were “good” only in the sense that they taught him valuable lessons. “I learned that certain things don’t necessarily bring you the fulfilment that you think they would. On paper, it feels like that is the life, but experientially maybe not,” he said.

Etim-Effiong now advises young people to avoid womanizing, warning that it can negatively impact future relationships and marriages. He stressed that habits formed while single are not easily broken after marriage. “If you develop that habit or lifestyle, you won’t automatically change overnight. If you are not able to commit to one person, if you jump from one relationship to another, that won’t automatically change when you marry,” he cautioned.

He further explained that without building the discipline to commit before marriage, challenges in marriage may lead to the same pattern of jumping from one relationship to another.

The actor’s honest revelation has sparked conversations about relationship habits and the importance of self-discipline before marriage.
