El-Kanemi Warriors Confirm Kabiru Dogo as New Technical Adviser Ahead of NPFL Season

El-Kanemi Warriors have officially appointed Kabiru Dogo as their new technical adviser, marking a fresh start for the Maiduguri-based club as they prepare for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. Dogo was unveiled on Sunday, taking over from Aliyu Zubairu, whose contract recently expired after guiding the team to promotion and President Federation Cup success.

The 55-year-old coach brings extensive NPFL experience, having previously managed Kwara United, ABS FC, and Nasarawa United, where he was dismissed midway through last season. His appointment is part of a broader restructuring effort by the club’s management aimed at improving the team’s fortunes after narrowly escaping relegation last term.

Dogo is expected to sign a two-year contract and will be allowed to bring one assistant coach. Meanwhile, the club has bolstered its technical department with internal promotions and new appointments, including Mohammed Kachalla as Chief Coach and Ibrahim Imam A. Laji as Assistant Coach. Additional coaching staff have also been brought in to strengthen the team’s preparations.

El-Kanemi Warriors will commence pre-season training next week under the guidance of the new technical team, with hopes that Dogo’s tactical acumen and league experience will steer the club to a more competitive campaign and avoid another relegation scare.
