Israeli Man Dies Suddenly at Abuja Hotel, Prompting Police Investigation

A 73-year-old Israeli man, Avi Warshaviak, died suddenly after falling ill at the Corinthia Villa Hotel in the Garki area of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. The incident occurred on Saturday morning when Warshaviak reportedly developed a health problem around 9:51 a.m. while staying at the hotel with his wife. He was promptly taken to Asokoro General Hospital, but doctors confirmed his death shortly after arrival.

The hotel’s Chief Security Officer, Okorie Emmanuel, reported the case to the Garki Divisional Police Headquarters at about 11:23 a.m. Police officers visited both the hotel and the hospital, documented the incident, and transferred the body to the hospital mortuary for an autopsy. Authorities are currently liaising with the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria to carry out the necessary consular procedures.

The sudden death has caused confusion and concern, with investigations ongoing to determine the exact cause. This incident adds to recent reports of unexplained deaths in Abuja hotels, underscoring the need for thorough inquiries into such occurrences.
